Spotting moose and such

Even when you’re in the middle of white water rapids, we have one bit of advice: Keep your eyes open. Around here you’re sure to spot a range of interesting wildlife in the sky and on the shore. Don’t be surprised if you see elk, mule deer, otter, osprey, eagle, blue heron and, maybe if you’re lucky, a black bear.

When you go whitewater rafting in Jackson Hole, you’re rafting right through the middle of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, the largest intact temperate ecosystem in the continental U.S. The ecosystem includes 18 million acres of government protected wildlife habitat, national forest, and national park land. Not only does the government protect the area, but also Jackson Hole residents are serious about conversation too and make it a top priority in their communities. Around here, you can be on the lookout for over 300 species of wildlife. If you keep a sharp eye, you can find a new critter around just about every bend of the river. Fun as the ride is, we have to say, for our guests spotting a wolf, coyote, eagle, and/or any one of their other forest friends always makes for a great memory.
